This was possible thanks to a collaboration between Deutsche Post, DHL, and ABENA GmbH using the Deutsch Post GoGreen Plus service for letter mails. With GoGreen Plus, distribution is done with trucks powered by biogas or electricity, the use of hydrogenated vegetable oil as a fuel, and heat pumps in Deutsche Post/ DHL-owned buildings.
By taking all the insetting measures together, CO2 emissions were reduced by up to 95% compared to standard technology.
