1. Knock on the door before entering. Use the door stop and turn on the light. Avoid surprising the guest in the room by always keeping the door open while working. Place the cleaning trolley in the doorway as well.

2. Clear the room and table around the sink. Empty bins and remove used linen and towels. Draw back the curtains and open the window for airing.

3. Make the bed according to hotel standards.

4. Clean the bathroom. Use our guide: Get a Spotless Bathroom in 10 Easy Steps, for inspiration and as a checklist.

5. Check and complete all relevant brochures, pens, etc., cf. hotel standard. Check also minibar etc.

6. It is now time to remove dirt and dust from furniture with hard surfaces. Our guide, 5 Steps to Perfectly Clean Furniture, provides detailed guidance for wetting and using cloths most efficiently. We recommend wiping and cleaning the furniture in the same order in all rooms to avoid mistakes and ensure consistency.
Tip: Remember to wipe the remote control, knobs, and door handles and remove possible spots in the window. Check that the lights and phone work as you wipe them.

7. The last cleaning procedure to complete is to clean the floors in the bathroom and in the rest of the hotel room.

If the surface is made of wood, linoleum or similar, use our guide, Clean Floors in 5 Steps, in order to learn more about preparing and using a mop in the most efficient way.
Vacuum the mats and carpets methodically by starting at the back of the room and working your way toward the door.
