Housekeeping Guide: 5 steps to perfectly cleaned furniture and hard surfaces

Hotel rooms are designed to match the need of the guest and to accommodate this, furniture such as desks, shelves and nightstands are often part of the interior decoration. Th different furniture in hotel rooms presents different demands to the cleaning of the room in order to prevent dirt and dust on surfaces. Below you will find 5 easy steps to ensure perfectly cleaned furniture.

Note: Steps 3 to 5 require the use of a detergent, which should be dosed with a 10-milliliter product of detergent to 1 liter of water.

  1. Your first step is to analyze how many cloths you will need to clean the furniture in your hotel room. Normally, there are many rooms to clean. Therefore, it can be a good idea to prepare a larger amount of cloths and other equipment in advance to save time. Place the amount of cloth upright in your bucket.
  2. Choose your preferred detergent for the cleaning task. Remember to use a product that is suited for the job. We recommend using a product marked with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel because these products provide you and the environment with the best thoughtfulness and protection. Dose as prescribed on the product's label.
Note: The following steps are based on the use of a detergent, which should be dosed with 10 milliliters of detergent to 1 liter of water.
  3. Pour your chosen detergent over your cloths. The amount of detergent may vary according to your product and your amount of cloths. For 10 cloths in the size 40x40 centimeters, we recommend you use 100 milliliters. Check the instructions on your detergent for correct dosage. When the detergent is applied into the bucket, turn the cloths around. Subsequently, pour another 100 milliliters over the cloths.
  4. The cloths are now ready to use. Utilize your cloths in the best way possible by using all four sides. Remember to use the right procedure for folding the cloth in order to successfully use all four sides.
  5. Use a new side of the cloth for each new object you clean, or change sides if the cloth becomes very dirty. When all sides of the cloth have been used, throw it in the washing net of your trolley. Use a new, unused cloth when cleaning a new surface.
